Flygate Cottage, a picture postcard traditional white stone cottage, set on the outskirts of the village of Lawrenny on the wonderful Cleddau estuary.

Lawrenny, right in the heart of this secret waterway has a thriving local community and holds regular events focusing on the water and its strong sailing links. Within walking distance there is a hugely popular village pub, The Lawrenny Arms set on the banks of the river serving food and traditional ales. In addition, the award winning Quayside Tea Room is renowned for its views, excellent lunches and teas. There is also a village shop.

The strong nautical links are reflected in this quaint cottage's decor, enjoy the large, enclosed lawned garden with fruit trees and pretty flowers, the vine covered pergola and sheltered paved patio are perfect for dining alfresco on a summer’s evening, admiring the view up the garden to the fields beyond. French doors open to the well-equipped spacious kitchen/diner, perfect for preparing family meals to eat around the long refectory table, exposed beams and wooden floors abound. The two cosy sitting rooms give plenty of space in which to relax, while the wood burning stove keeps evening chills at bay. Stairs lead to the two pretty bedrooms nestling in the eaves with exposed beams. This is an old cottage with low beams and doorways, so watch your head.

The location is ideal for boating and water sports enthusiasts with the slipway nearby. Spend your days messing around on the water or exploring on foot, footpaths abound in this Coastal National Park. The bird and wildlife are mesmerising. Sleepy villages with local pubs, unchanged by time nestle on the banks of this beautiful waterway including Landshipping and Cresswell Quay. The wonderful seaside villages of Tenby and Saundersfoot with their bustling facilities and glorious sandy beaches are within a short drive as is the pretty market town of Narberth with its range of boutique shops, restaurants, pubs and antique markets. There are a host of family attractions including Folly Farm, Anna’s Welsh Zoo, Blue Lagoon water park and Oakwood Theme Park, so something for everyone.
