The property is approached via an A-road. Thereafter approximately 3 - 4 miles of narrow country lanes. Cottage access is via back door located in the garden. The front door is permanently closed. Parking is off road on a prepared but rough area at the rear of the cottage. There is a short walk (8 metres) along very quiet lane from car park to garden gate. Access to the back door is over a low kerb (4 cm, 1.5 inches) and through a garden gate which opens to a maximum of 112cm (44 inches). There is a low step over the door threshold (103cm, 5 inches). There are no porterage facilities. The garden consists of approximately 1/3 acre, mostly an undulating lawn. Flower beds along one side, a gentle bank leads up to a steep drop into the neighbouring farmers field. In addition, there is a pond with a low (30cm, 12 inches) stone wall around it. The latter is a potential trip hazard. There is a patio which extends from the back door into the garden to a distance of about 5 metres (15ft). It comprises patio flag stones which although reasonably flat are not 100% smooth. Ground floor facilities: all on one level with dog-leg passageway (60cm, 2ft) maximum width. Kitchen. Work tops and large refectory table. Low level oven, induction and gas hob. Bathroom/overhead shower/whb/wc. Maximum width of door 601 cm (2 ft). Shower is over bath. There is a sitting room and office. Reduced headroom of 176cm (69 inches) between kitchen and passageway. Well-lit sitting room with natural and artificial light. Smart television with remote control. First floor access is via short curving staircase and small landing - 2 bedrooms both with areas of reduced headroom to avoid beams. Both rooms have Velux roof windows. External lighting: Automatic in porch outside back door and automatic on road between gate and car park. Guide dogs welcome.
First visit but would certainly like to come again. We were extremely lucky with the weather and really enjoyed the garden and spacious and well equipped holiday home. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Dylan Thomas Boathouse and walk along the estuary at Laugharne.
Second visit, could it be as good? Most definitely! We just love it here and will be back next year. Thanks for everything
Thanks for a lovely stay in this beautiful place. We've had some great walks around the lanes and around Lawrenny. It is so peaceful and the garden in the evening sun is delightful. Some lovely beaches around and visited often. Thanks again!
Love this cottage! Perfect place to de stress for us both and plenty of good walks for the dog. I love the garden and we sat out most evenings and early mornings. First time in South Wales and we will be back - and to this cottage! Thank you
What a beautiful place to stay. A real home form home (or as you would like your home to be). We had beautiful weather, and enjoyed visiting some of the beautiful beaches and gardens of Pembrokeshire. Thank you!
We have stayed in many coastal cottages and we would say that this one is one of the best! The garden is wonderful! Thank you
We have had a lovely relaxing stay at Flygate Cottage, mornings were a stroll into the garden, smell the rambling roses and enjoy a pot of tea, watch the robins, blackbirds, chaffinches and rare sight of a Jay. Evenings were similar but with the odd glass of wine and BBQ. The cottage is very comfortable and feels homely and relaxed. Thank you!
We have enjoyed a wonderful week in this lovely cottage. There are so many things to see and do in this beautiful part of Wales, we wish we were staying for longer! Highlights included visiting Carew Castle, wine tasting at Cwm Deri, and having a lobster roll from Cafe Mor in Freshwater West.
A very relaxing, enjoyable, peaceful break in a well equipped, clean cottage. Ideal place for a dog, remote enough not to worry about any barking and lots of lanes to explore. Perfect cottage in every way. Thanks.
We've had a fantastic week here in this beautiful, cosy home. Only a little rain and lots of sun which has allowed us plenty of time on the beach - our favourites being Broad Haven and Whitesands (Great for body boarding!) Thank you for all the extra touches which made the whole stay extra comfortable.
Lovely, well-equipped cottage beautiful garden and views. Thank you. May 2017
